Website Content to help you in the Economy and Save you time converting prospects to customers

I was quite happy to read my Guerrilla Marketing “Marketing Weekly Intelligence Tip” this morning.  It is about using your website in this tough economy to better address and capture visitors.  How?  By asking yourself a few simple questions.  Her’s the ghist:

Email Title “An Exercise in Guerrilla Marketing During Tough Times”
By Jay Conrad Levinson, Author, “Guerrilla Marketing” series of books

1. Write down the three questions you are asked most by your prospects and customers. The answers to those questions should be the starting point for the content on your website.
Not only will the visitor feel like you are directly speaking to them (and then make a personal connection), it will build trust with the prospect.  It will also save you time informing prospects about your services as well as help qualify prospects as good customers.

2. Answer this question: why do you want a website in the first place? The more focused your answer, the more valuable your website will be to you.
I could not agree with this statement more!  Never have a website just to have a website!  Yes, you should have one to be competitive in the market place, but please please clearly think through what purpose in your sales and customer Service cycles does the website serve.  Answering these questions will always translate into a much higher Return on Investment for your website dollars.

3. List what you have on your website that will involve visitors? Is it a free newsletter to which they might subscribe? A sweepstakes they may enter? A daily or weekly tip that is emailed to them regularly?
This is strongly related to #2… once someone is on your website, what would YOU like them to do.  Build you website on this goal.
