Privacy and Many many many many recieptents in “To” line

Have you ever received an email from someone and there are 40 to 400 other recipients in the “To” line? For many people including myself this is a pet peev!!! All those 400 other recipients now have your email and can send you unsolicited emails too. It’s just obnxious but most people don’t know the “faux-pa” they are committing.

If you email the person back about their “faux-pa,” it seems a little confrontational. Also I get these emails from someone I’ve met once at a Chamber event or maybe someone I don’t know (they farmed my email from someone else’s email faux-pa).

It’s awkward to ask to be removed or notify the person of their extremely bad email “faux-pa.” Anyways just an alert to never do this!

What can you do instead?

I recommend using an email “Blast” or email newsletter service, particularly Vertical Response. They send an individual email often personalized with each individual recipients name to each individual email. Have I emphasized the word, individual (and private), enough? Also writing too many people at once in the To, CC, or BCC fields will put you in the JUNK EMAIL Box. Vertical Response keeps you out of the Junk Mail folder and in the Inbox. They also give you statistics on who opens your email. Contact us to hear more!
