More on Videos: Embedded on your website versus uploaded on Youtube

We recommend doing both. Have high quality videos made in the “flv” format. Then embed them directly into your website. They will load for most computers because they use the most widely used plugin, FLASH! With Quicktime and Windows Media Player people often receive pop-ups to upgrade or install the software. This quickly turns people off to the video and your website. We want to build trust, not create panic!!!
In addition, load your videos onto YouTube.com with a good description of what the video is. You will notice an increase in website traffic because your YouTube.com video is being watched. YouTube.com is great at just getting those videos online. You can submit pretty much an video file type from windows media player to QuickTime videos. You Tube will then convert them to flv, again a very universal type of video! It’s really important that your videos are easy to watch without each user needing a specific version of software to use. I don’t recommend using YouTube videos on your own website because YouTube compresses the videos. This compression takes away from the clarity.
