Another Reminder to Purchase Systemworks in 2007

Last night 60 minutes had an interesting story on the “Geek Squad.” This company is tech support for all of us who don’t like sitting in unless phone queues or are no longer eligible for warranty service. Geek Squad has been purchased by Best Buy. You may have seen their VW black and white Bugs driving to and from clients in Marin. One of the theme of last night’s show was how dependent we are on our technology to function how precious our data is to our day to day work.

Since it’s a new year I think it is a great time to purchase the latest and greatest security and Anti-Virus software protection (it’s not just about Anti-Virus). In the last three years we have had great success with Norton System Works on our own computers as well as our clients. It’s a bit more expensive then just the Anti-Virus software, but it’s well worth the extra $50 a year. Put it in perspective, if you do loose your data, how much money will you have to spend on a tech person to restore your computer ($200-$1200). How many hours of work will you loose until your computer is back to normal. It’s worth having the latest Security software each year. If you are in a large office, they have multiple license discounts.

We also recommend having the 2007 edition rather then “renewing” your old 2005 or 2006 edition. You will be better protected with each year’s new edition.

Lastly buy Norton SystemWorks 2007 not Internet Security. They are often confused, but they are very different products!
